Freigeist Fellowship for Shimpei Ishiyama

Shimpei Ishiyama, postdoc in Michael Brecht's lab, has successfully applied for a Freigeist Fellowship (VW Stiftung). He will receive 1 Mio Euro to continue his research on positive emotions like ticklishness and their corresponding neuronal processes in the brain.

In spring 2019 he will move to the Institute for Pathophysiology, University Hospital of the Johannes Gutenberg-Universität Mainz, to establish his group.

Shimpei Ishiyama, postdoc in Michael Brecht's Labor, hat sich erfolgreich um ein Freigeist Fellowship der VW Stiftung beworben. Er wird eine Million Euro erhalten, um seine Forschung über den Zusammenhang von positiven Emotionen und neuronalen Prozessen fortsetzen zu können.

Hierfür wird er im Frühjahr 2019 an das Institut für Pathophysiologie der Universitätsmedizin Mainz wechseln.
