Eva Löcherbach: Modeling systems of spiking neurons by Hawkes processes with variable memory
Université Paris 1
In the first part of the talk, I will give a short introduction to systems of interacting Hawkes processes and their properties. Hawkes processes, also called ''self-exciting point processes'', are able to describe space-time correlations between different jump events. In the context of spiking neurons, these jump events are the spike times of the different neurons in the system. In the second part of the talk I will then describe recent results on mean field limits for Hawkes processes - both in a classical and in a diffusive scaling - and how these results can be interpreted in the framework of systems of spiking neurons.
Guests are welcome!
