Yulia Sandamirskaya: Neuromorphic computing and artificial intelligence: from chips to robots
Zurich University of Applied Sciences
Building intelligent robots requires an interplay between multiple disciplines and approaches: perception, planning, and control are historically routed in different comping frameworks and work with different assumptions, data structures, and time scales. Neuromorphic computing brings all aspects of behavior in a common computing framework. This allows us to develop neural architectures that more tightly integrate perception, action, and learning, thus move the field beyond today’s disembodied, rigid, and inefficient AI systems.
