Thomas Christophel has just started his lab with his Emmy-Noether Grant "Distributed Cognition and Working Memory" at the BCCN Berlin and the Institute for Psychology, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. Research focus is the storage of short-term memory contents and their use for decision-making.

Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Lutz Schimansky-Geier, a long-time member of the BCCN Berlin and the Department of Physics, has passed away on November 22 of 2020 after a long period of illness.

Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin prolonges the Interdisciplinary Center Computational Neuroscience (ICCN) for another five years after a rigourous evaluation process. Five reviewers were asked to write an evaluation of the two Centers' performance. Thanks to the positive reviews, the two relevant commissions of the HU Berlin, "Kommission für Forschung und wissenschaftlicher Nachwuchs (FNK)" and the "Akademischer Senat", decided to accept a renewal of the ICCN until 2025. The BCCN Berlin will renew its cooperation contract with Charité, HU Berlin and TU Berlin.

Die Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin wird das Interdisziplinäre Zentrum Computational Neuroscience nach einem rigorosen Evaluierungsprozess um fünf Jahre verlängern. Fünf Gutachter*innen waren in die Evaluierung einbezogen und sollten die Leistungen des Zentrums einschätzen. Dank der positiven Bewertungen empfahl die "Kommission für Forschung und wissenschaftlicher Nachwuchs (FNK)" dem  "Akademischen Senat (AS)" der HU Berlin uneingeschränkt die Verlängerung des Zentrums. Der AS ist dieser Empfehlung nun gefolgt und das ICCN wird bis 2025 verlängert. Das BCCN Berlin wird nun den Kooperationsvertrag zwischen Charité, HU Berlin und TU Berlin verlängern lassen.
